The No Man’s Sky “Foundation Update” introduced a lot of changes into the game – new things to collect, new interactions, bases, and freighters you can hire. But, it contains an old bug that has annoyed me off and on … and now has hindered my gameplay:
Aside from this, though, the update has brought me back to the game and has given me things to do. There’s a depth (at least more than was in the original game) that has given me goals to pursue. But as you see from above, those goals … aren’t always achievable if you run across a certain bug …
You can hire personnel for your base to help you make the base better, and give you access to new blueprints and resources. The problem here was that, in order to grow my own Albumen Pearls (a valuable commodity), I need seeds from the ruins of a farm. As you can see, because of the way the game handles spawning stuff in water (it doesn’t), the ruins aren’t there and there’s no way (well, actually there is but it’s more work than it should be) to get past this point.
The solution will require me disassembling my Farmer’s workstation and reassembling it on my freighter. Then, move to another system and have my farmer tell me where to find the seeds there.
