It’s always been about the blue and the view with me when it comes to my No Man’s Sky bases. But the VISIONS update dropped recently, expanding the color palette for some planets, namely the “normal” ones. So, what was green grass and blue seas and sky becomes red seas, brown water, and yellow grass. This calls for a base move.
So I moved. Finding a decent planet within a decent system is hard – not only do I want something with perfect weather, the right amount of water, and the right colors, but I also want a system with planets that provide Radon and Sulpherine gases. As it was, I settled for something less than ideal.
It’s still in the Galactic Hub, but instead of at the bottom of HUB10, it’s near the bottom of HUB1, in [HUB1-207]Figaro V on Itwickhil Zamai. The weather is pretty good – only the occasional heat storm, and the red sky isn’t annoying most of the time. But the water is blue, the grass is green, and it’s fairly peaceful. The discoverer found the portal on this particular Earth-like planet and left a comm station near it, so it’s easy to find, and it’s nice having the known portal on the same planet as my base.
The new SkyFarm II doesn’t have as many plants as the old one did – they triggered a bug when I summoned my freighter that would crash the game, so I cut out 1/4 of the plants. I also changed around the design a little bit as far as the access to the under water portion (which there isn’t really that much to, so it’s not worth getting a picture of for you).
I’m leaving the old base as “Abandoned SkyFarm” –
Not even a shell of its former self.
